I studied photography at Bournemouth Arts Institute back when it was called something else. I worked in b&w and then fell out with film over its use of gelatine emulsion. I didn't take a picture for the final year, but they gave me a distinction anyway - I played with the idea of found snapshots being art if an art student says they are - that's right. Intellectually right up there, and it looked good, too.
In the last few years I've picked up a digital camera and have been working like nuts, making up for lost time. I always have several projects on the go, and some things just jump out and become a self-contained set (death in the gardens). The projects shown online range from the pretty (flora) to the obscure (magic roundabouts) and include my passions - the landscapes we ignore and the fringes of urban life (heath). Click on the images above to see more. Other projects will get their own galleries in time. I also write, often to accompany photgraphy projects, plus everything from poetry, essays and short stories to novels.
My biggest project by far is love | landscape, which is a book-in- waiting and something I imagine will be a never-ending project. More details on its own page.
I currently show work at The Mulberry Tree in Swanage and The Boilerhouse in Corfe Castle, and am open to offers if you'd like to show the work in your gallery - responses are always favourable and sales good!
